Description:
Serve with AmeriCorps at Habitat for Humanity of Dane County to build sustainable solutions in the community while gaining valuable hands-on construction and leadership experience. As an AmeriCorps Construction Crew Leader, you’ll play an integral part in building and repairing homes by leading groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers in construction activities while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.
This is a full-time, 10.5-month national service role, ideal for someone exploring a career in construction, leadership, people management, or community impact.

What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps is a national service program, similar to a public service fellowship. Members commit to one year of service with a nonprofit or public organization that addresses the root causes of poverty.
In this role, you would serve as an AmeriCorps member placed at Habitat for Humanity of Dane County, supported by Habitat for Humanity International.
Time Commitment
- Service for 10.5 months
- 40 hours per week, in-person
- Tuesday-Saturday schedule, 7:30am-4pm each day
Compensation & Benefits
- Living allowance of $20,400 paid over approximately 10 ½ months of service
- $500/month housing allowance paid directly to a landlord or mortgage holder
- Education Award of $7,395 upon successful completion of service
