About the Role

At SAMY x team5pm, we are redefining how brands navigate the social universe. Across the globe we have established workflows for delivering best in class social media services to clients and in these processes, have collected data to support the delivery. AI is now presenting a unique opportunity to lever that data to refine and empower the workflows our industry experts have developed.

As the AI Workflow Engineer, it will be your responsibility to test and develop ways that AI can empower our established service workflows. This isn’t about using AI to replace jobs – it’s about working with our team of specialist experts to understand their workflows and finding ways to enhance and enrich them.

Main Responsibilities

  • Agents and Activation: Build agents and define how they interact to create an “operating system” for our various client services.

  • Data Led development: We have a significant amount of data around social media content. Our agents need to be able to inference with that data to ensure any actions our grounded in our known truth.

  • Collaborative Innovation: Work with our AI programme manager to shape the overall roadmap and with our AI

  • Product Integration: Partner with the Data Product Manager to ensure our internal data products are powered by efficient, cost-effective, and high-performance data streams.

  • Lead the team: We already have a small team of talented data engineers. Your role will be to mentor and guide them as we create the data foundation for the agency

KEY REQUIREMENTSMust Have

  • 2-4 years of experience in a data discipline with the last 1 year experimenting with AI in some degree. We appreciate this is a new area and not asking for you to be someone who has 30 years of ML experience, but you must have a solid foundation in working with structured data,

  • Expert-level SQL and Python: Deep experience in writing clean, performant code for data manipulation and automation.

  • Experience working with stakeholders: In order to automate, you need to be able to communicate effectively with end stakeholder to understand their needs and demonstrate how what you build solves them.

  • Version Control – Strong experience with Git

  • Social Data Experience: Familiarity with the nuances of social media APIs and the challenges of unstructured data.

  • Leadership Presence: Experience managing or mentoring engineers and the ability to translate technical “blockers” into business solutions.

Good to have

  • Interest in AI/ML from a philosophical perspective: AI is a polarizing space which while presenting a great deal of opportunity, also poses risk. Everyone’s input into the ethical use of AI at SAMY is valued.

  • Multi-market/multi-language experience and additional European languages (role-dependent).

  • Curiosity for culture and consumer behaviour: actively tracks trends, creator ecosystems, and category signals.
