Job Summary
Agronomy & Grain Operators will assist in and perform a wide range of activities under the direction of the Agronomy & Grain Operations Manager to ensure the fall harvest and spring fertilizer season run smoothly. In the fall, help move one of Wisconsin’s most important harvests through our grain facilities with grain handling responsibilities. Spend the spring learning crop application alongside experienced teammates and earning your applicator certification. Every season brings new challenges, new skills, and a chance to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
· Grain Peak Season (roughly August – November)
o During this period, your primary focus will be on grain operations, including:
§ Assist with soil sampling.
§ Operate the scales and grain dryer, sample loads, load/unload trucks, and perform other related operations.
§ Assist with loading and unloading grain.
§ Perform grain housekeeping and equipment cleanouts.
· Off-Peak Season (roughly December – March)
o In the off-season, responsibilities will shift to operational and maintenance support, including:
§ Complete preventative equipment maintenance, such as oil changes, tire rotations, checking batteries, changing filters, fluids, and lubrication.
§ Haul product between warehouses and facilities.
§ Transfer grain between locations and assist with gain bin cleanouts.
· Agronomy Peak Season (roughly April – July)
o During this period, your primary focus will be on field operations, including:
§ Operating modern crop application equipment efficiently and accurately, applying materials to designated fields and locations.
§ Accurately deliver and verify correct product according to dispatched schedule and seasonal needs.
§ As needed, support day-to-day agronomy operations by loading and unloading fertilizer, delivering pull spreaders, operating a front-end loader, and performing other operational duties.
Job Requirements
· Certifications: Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and possess a satisfactory driving record. CDL valued, but not required. Chemical applicator license valued, but not required.
· Technical Skills:
o Ability to lift, carry, and move sixty pounds.
o Comfort climbing, standing, bending, and working with hands.
o Proficient in the use of computer technology and other relevant tools.
· Soft Skills:

o Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner with attention to detail.

Work Environment
· This role is primarily operations-focused and involves working outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
· Occasional weekend work required during peak seasons.
