The Division for Learning and Teaching Enhancement (DLTE) at Stellenbosch University (SU) creates professional learning opportunities for academic staff to professionalise the teaching-learning-assessment (TLA) function in support of student learning and success.

Die Afdeling vir Leer- en Onderrigverryking (ALOV) by die Universiteit Stellenbosch (US), skep professionele leergeleenthede vir akademiese personeel met betrekking tot die professionalisering van die onderrig-leer-assessering (OLA) funksie ter ondersteuning van studenteleer en -sukses.

Duties/Pligte

  • Organising, managing, and facilitating projects and activities of the DLTE (including administration and budgets).
  • Liaising and communicating with faculties regarding DLTE projects and activities, as well as other TLA matters.
  • Providing advice and support to academics and faculties about TLA and curriculum renewal in support of student learning and success.
  • Monitoring and evaluating TLA projects.
  • Conceptualising, designing, and developing TLA resources and professional learning opportunities for academics.
  • Facilitating TLA professional learning opportunities for SU academics.
  • Organiseer, koördineer en fasiliteer projekte en aktiwiteite van die ALOV (insluitend administrasie en begrotings).
  • Skakel en kommunikeer met fakulteite ten opsigte van ALOV-projekte en -aktiwiteite sowel as ander OLA aangeleenthede.
  • Voorsien raad en ondersteuning aan akademici en fakulteite ten opsigte van OLA en kurrikulumvernuwing ter ondersteuning van studenteleer en -sukses.
  • Moniteer en evalueer OLA-projekte.
  • Konsepsualiseer, ontwerp en ontwikkel OLA-hulpbronne en professsionele leergeleenthede vir akademici.
  • Fasiliteer OLA professionele leergeleenthede vir akademici.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

  • A master's degree or enrolled for a master's degree.
  • Two years' relevant TLA experience of being employed in a DHET accredited higher education institution as either lecturer or part of a DLTE or equivalent.
  • Sound knowledge of the South African higher education sector.
  • Familiar with the scholarship of teaching and learning in South Africa and internationally.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to work in a complex environment.
  • The ability to think analytically and innovatively and taking initiative.
  • Good communication and liaising skills.
  • Good presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Strong writing abilities, including minutes and reports.
  • Detail-focused with excellent time management skills.
  • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Moodle.
  • A valid driver's licence.

In order to confirm compliance with the qualitative requirements as stated, candidates will be required to do a presentation and task-based assessment exercise as part of the interview process.
