Guiding Smart Start’s adult training and related design,learning and developmentfor quality & improving adult practice re early learning programmes — and thus child outcomes
Collaboratively reviewing and learning about and iteratively (re) designing and developing trainers’ and other fieldworkers’ training programmes and associated resources, approach(es) and strategy
Smart Start’s practitioner training programme currently comprises training courses and workshops including(but are not limited to):
Start-up course: five days in person
Business skills course: two days in person (pending redesign refocused onsustainability)
ECD Centre Principal Induction course: one day in person
Funda app workshops
Coaching circle workshops
Online training academy (hosted on Moodle)
Appropriate open-source and/or white-label versions of the above (incl. Free Source resources)
Reviewing and (re) designing these training courses and workshops includes(but is not limited to):
Trainer manuals, coaching circle guides and workshop guides
Participant handbooks and tools
Training of trainers (and/or other fieldworkers, esp. club coaches & field officers) on new content
Online training content, including modules, scripts, quizzes, and videos (incl. as far as possible creating videos with the support of contractors)
Designing & managing online training content on our learning management system
Guiding and/or supporting in-field learning about, experimenting with, and research into and/or evaluations of Smart Start’s training programmes
Managing contracted designers, video editors and content area specialists
Documenting Smart Start’s early learning programme practices, outcomes and insights
Innovating and leveraging learning technologies for scale and impact
Supporting Smart Start’s early learning programme design,learning and developmentfor child outcomes through early learning programme quality and improvement in practice
Collaboratively reviewing and learning about and iteratively (re) designing and developing – incl. experimenting with –Smart Start’s early learning programme(s) and associated resources, approach(es) and strategy
Smart Start’s early learning programme currently comprises practices and systems including(but are not limited to):
Daily routine
Curriculum and associated content
Toys
Tools and guides or manuals
Other early learning resources for practitioners, assistants, caregivers, and/or other network staff
Appropriate facilitation and teaching practices and techniques in and across contexts
Training approaches, designs and practices in service and/or support of the above
Coaching approaches, designs and practices in service and/or support of the above
Appropriate offerings for practitioners and/or others operating in wider ECD centres etc.
Appropriate open-source and/or white-label versions of the above (incl. Free Source resources)
Guiding and supporting learning by, from and with network partners and staff in service of the above, including but not limited to
Supporting development of processes to onboard new staff re Smart Start’s early learning programme
Coordinating network staff for mutual learning
Guiding and/or encouraging, and enabling staff’s ongoing experimenting with, reflecting on, and learning about how to realise Smart Start’s early learning programme in practice across the network
