We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to join the core finance team. This strategic and hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to lead a significant project: bringing the entire Accounts Receivable function in-house. You will design, implement, and optimize all AR processes, systems, and controls, establishing best practices and ensuring seamless operations. This role offers a unique chance to contribute directly to the financial efficiency of the organization and play a key leadership role in managing and developing a team of two junior AR Clerks.
Please note the role is only open to Cape Town based candidates.
Roles & Responsibilities
Leading the end-to-end process of transitioning the Accounts Receivable function from an outsourced model to an efficient in-house operation, including designing and implementing new policies and workflows.
Performing and overseeing intricate reconciliations of client accounts, ensuring accuracy and swift resolution of discrepancies.
Proactively managing and enhancing cash collections, focusing on reducing debtor days and ensuring timely payments.
Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients, confidently engaging in follow-up calls and correspondence to manage outstanding invoices.
Managing, mentoring, and fostering the professional development of two junior Accounts Receivable Clerks.
Generating comprehensive AR reports and providing insightful analysis on debtor aging, collection trends, and financial risks.
Continuously identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline AR processes, enhance efficiency, and leverage technology.
Ensuring all Accounts Receivable activities adhere to internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive Accounts Receivable experience, with a strong preference for professional services.
Proven leadership in AR process implementation, particularly transitioning from outsourced to in-house functions.
Exceptional ability to perform and oversee complex client account reconciliations.
Strong communication skills for effective client engagement and follow-up, coupled with demonstrated team leadership.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel, alongside a highly analytical and organized approach.
Ability to work effectively in a fully remote capacity from South Africa.
Salary and Package
A highly competitive salary package ranging from R550,000 – R650,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
