The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for the business facing finance activities, including general accounting, accounts payable activities and reporting, forecasting, and planning for the Masana business.
Responsibilities:
General
Assurance on the integrity of the business financial results (ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards).
Responsible for accurate recording, reporting, and reviewing of all relevant operating expenditures and accruals.
Conduct ad hoc and project-related responsibilities/tasks, as and when required.
Liaise with the internal and external auditors ensuring an efficient risk focused audit cycle.
Accounts Payable
Perform supplier invoice verification activities (final invoices vs. good receipt, settlements) for the assigned cost centres.
Maintain a record of all submitted invoices.
Ensure that supplier invoices and payments comply with Masana and SARS requirements.
Obtain necessary approvals for invoices prior to processing in line with the Delegation of Authority.
Ensure all invoices are filed electronically in SAP.
Perform supplier accounts reconciliations.
Resolve queries with suppliers timeously.
Support internal and external audits of accounts payable.
Ensure accuracy of the accounts payable data processed into SAP.
Perform month end closing processes and reconciliation of the supplier general ledger.
Maintain the creditors age analysis ensuring that there are no long-outstanding items.
Investigate suppliers with credit balances.
Ensure customer refunds comply with Masana’s requirements.
Ensure that supplier payment terms are complied with.
Manage the operational cost tracking/preparation of the Rolling Forecast and annual plan are completed monthly.
Qualification and experience:
Essential: National Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounts payable environment.
Proven experience within a high volume and pressurized accounts payable environment.
Solid working knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
Strong analytical and planning skills.
Works well under pressure.
Strong team player and well-developed interpersonal skills
