for the finer things in life? Our client, a prestigious wine farm just outside Stellenbosch, seeks a skilled Accountant to manage their financial operations and support their renowned winemaking legacy amidst rolling vineyards.
Purpose
of the Role As the Accountant for our client, you’ll oversee day-to-day financial tasks while ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations.
From managing payroll to handling wine registration administration, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping our client’s esteemed estate operating seamlessly. This is a

Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Accounting :
Manage bookkeeping, process invoices, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial statements for our client. Wine Registration Admin :
Handle administrative duties for wine registrations, including submissions to SAWIS (South African Wine Information Systems) and excise tax compliance. Payroll & HR Admin :
Process payroll for our client’s farm and winery staff, maintain employee records, and prepare Labour Department reports. Tax Compliance :
Ensure timely and accurate excise tax filings and other statutory submissions for our client. General Administration :
Assist with ad-hoc tasks to support our client’s operational and compliance needs. Key Requirements Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping (e.g., Diploma or Degree). 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a small-to-medium business setting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Xero, or Quick Books) and MS Excel. Knowledge of payroll processing and HR administration. Understanding of excise tax, SAWIS, and Labour Department requirements (advantageous) will be beneficial.
Strong organisational skills and
attention to detail
