Job Summary:

 

The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial reporting and general accounting functions. This role includes ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, maintaining strong internal controls, and providing insightful analysis to support business decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Manage all financial obligations and ensure timely processing and compliance.

• Oversee the monitoring of debtor and creditor accounts.

• Oversee cash flow management and perform bank reconciliations.

•Reconcile PSP balances with bank statements and internal records daily.

•Investigate and resolve discrepancies in transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance and collaborate with other departments to address and resolve reconciliation issues.

• Oversee intercompany balances and manage intercompany transactions.

• Preparation of VAT, reports on a quarterly basis.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

•Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.

• Prepare profitability reports and cash flow budgets.

• Execution of month-end procedures ensuring accuracy and completeness of accounting records

• Assist in the preparation of audited financial statements and liaise with external auditors when necessary.

• Preparation and payment of creditors, UIF contributions and VAT + PAYE.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and company’s policies

• Preparation + reporting of FSCA compliance reporting

• Liaise with external Auditors for group companies

 

Qualifications / Education:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.

Experience:

 

• A minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.

 

• Financial Services Industry experience will be advantageous.

Skills:

 

• Proficiency with SAP accounting software and MS Office Suite.

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively within a team.

• Excellent command of the English language.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
