JOB SPECIFICATION
JOB TITLE : Catering Supervisor
REPORTS TO : Assistant Residence Manager
Primary Role
To provide an excellent standard of service, in accordance with the standards of the Palace, and strive to obtain maximum efficiency, working within a team and independently as required.
Key Responsibilities
Report for duty on time, in clean, stain-free pressed uniform.
Maintain a neat appearance and high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times.
Report to Assistant Residence Manager and communicate throughout the day regarding the program and any new assignments.
Be responsible for the F&B Team and coordination of F&B assignments.
Manage all F&B Team and day-to-day operations to the highest standards.
Lead the F&B team by training and appraising personnel.
Emphasize motivation, development, and teamwork during training.
Ensure the quality of service in all food and beverage areas.
Execute all requests and queries promptly and efficiently.
Maintain a record of dietary requirements and preferences.
Have knowledge of set-ups and equipment used, e.g., types of flatware, chinaware, glassware, silverware and know how and when they should be used.
Check new supplies and arrange them in the appropriate location, paying attention to stock rotation.
Maintain good communication with Principals and all members of staff.
Maintain a Communication Book and check it daily for special requests, deliveries, changes to procedure, etc.
Liaise closely with chefs regarding menus and service requirements.
Support kitchen staff as necessary.
Prepare all back of house service points regarding expected numbers for breakfast, lunch, or dinner requirements.
Assist in creating a warm and welcoming environment and ensure that all front of house areas are clean, well presented, and maintained at all times.
Report possible hazards, equipment failures, and accidents.
Achieve the highest standard through strict adherence to hygiene and sanitation regulations for food, equipment, and clothing.
Prioritize Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Emergency, and Fire Safety Procedures.
Ensure security at all times and report any unusual behavior in and around the Palace grounds.
Attend Departmental Meetings, Training Sessions, and Briefings, and understand the content of each session.
No items to be removed from the premises without authorization.
Adhere to all Royal Court Rules and Regulations.
Take all days off/holidays/leave as per Royal Court Policy, with permission from Supervisors/Manager.
Other Requirements
Proven food and beverage management experience.
Excellent time management skills.
Service-focused personality is essential.
Ability to be both a Team player and a Team leader when necessary.
High standard of personal presentation.
Excellent organization skills, effective under time constraints with particular attention to detail.
Ensure all communication is carried out clearly.
Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
Mastery in delegating multiple tasks.
Proactive with a positive attitude.
Perform all duties with discretion, professionalism, and a pleasant demeanor.
Anticipate principals’ needs by learning their preferences, likes, dislikes, etc.
Able to relate to other people at all levels.
Ability to handle sensitive matters efficiently.
Up to date with food and beverage trends and best practices.
Computer literate.
