Our client based in Bellville, has a vacancy for an Accountant. This is a challenging role in a dynamic environment and best suited to a high functioning individual who is able to thrive in a very structured and high functioning team. The ideal candidate Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience.
You will be responsible for the following:
Accurate financial record keeping
Bank Management
Monitor Daily Cash balances
Reconciling to monthly income statements
Preparation of working papers and financial statements
Check and execute payments daily/weekly/monthly
Assist in managing the year-end, interim and all month-end processing and reporting
Assist in managing the external audit process
Preparations of weekly cashflow
Manage the debtor’s book, report on outstanding, send statements etc.
Assist the creditors and debtors’ staff and be back-up when on leave
Balance sheet recons
Payroll
VAT
Cashbook
Compilation of financial statements
Monthly processing
VAT/EMP recons and submissions
Submission of tax returns
Provisional tax calculations and submissions
Personal income tax calculations and submissions
Performing regular bookkeeping duties for cloud-based clients.
Keeping clients regularly updated on their company position in terms of bank balance, outstanding debtors, creditors etc.
Working practical knowledge relating to VAT and Income tax legislation
Qualifications:
Matric/Grade 12 Certificate
Bachelor Degree in B.Com / B.Acc / B.Compt Accounting / National Diploma / B.Tech (Accounting)
Completed SAICA / SAIPA Articles
2-3 Years accounting experience
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) & Pastel
Skills:
Good communication skills and able to work well with a diverse team
Deadline orientated and work well under pressure
Attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
