Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
General Ledger Maintenance: Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and insights.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory requirements, and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as needed.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and collections to maintain healthy cash flow.
Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and documentation, and liaise with auditors during annual audits.
Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide financial analysis and support for strategic decision-making and special projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, or ACCA) is highly desirable.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the payments or financial services industry.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Experience with payment processing systems or fintech is a plus.
