Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, supporting statutory compliance, and assisting with financial reporting and audits. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound accounting knowledge, and the ability to work within strict deadlines.
Job Purpose
To manage and analyse financial information to ensure accurate financial records and management packs, compliance with accounting standards and relevant regulations and company policies, audit and budget support, using software and technology to streamline financial processes and improve accuracy, and continuous learning/upskilling of self and Junior Accountant/s and Creditors Clerk/s.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve cashbooks, petty cash, and credit card transactions.
- Process and reconcile third-party doctor payments.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and patient statistics.
- Review general ledger accounts and investigate variances.
- Ensure accurate and timely statutory submissions, including VAT and regulatory reports.
- Assist with budgets, annual financial statements, and external audits.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and perform reconciliations.
- Review balance sheet accounts and prepare a reconciliation file for review by the Senior Accountant.
- Conduct internal audits and recommend process improvements.
- Support the mentoring and training of Junior Accountants, in alignment with the Senior Accountant.
- Support the mentoring and training of Creditors Clerk, in alignment with the Senior Accountant.
- Upskill and support the wider organisation by guiding teams on finance processes, policies, and best practices.
- Perform general finance administration and ad hoc duties when required.
