Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking for a unique opportunity beyond a traditional accounting environment?
We're partnering with an established private family office seeking an Accountant to join its close-knit finance team. This role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of companies, trusts, and property investments, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and working in a highly professional environment.
Your Responsibilities
As the successful candidate, you'll provide financial and administrative support across multiple entities, including:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Maintain accounting records across various entities
- Support month-end reporting and year-end financial statements
- Assist with consolidated reporting and financial packs
- Monitor financial activity across multiple businesses
Tax & Compliance
- Assist with tax administration and statutory submissions
- Liaise with external tax practitioners and auditors
- Prepare audit files and supporting documentation
- Support B-BBEE reporting and audits
- Assist with compliance requirements, including FICA, POPIA, company secretarial matters, and other regulatory obligations
Property & Portfolio Administration
- Review monthly rental income and property-related expenses
- Maintain lease agreements and title deed registers
- Coordinate insurance administration and renewals
Corporate Administration
- Support company secretarial functions, including annual returns and statutory records
- Coordinate licence renewals and compliance documentation
- Liaise with accountants, auditors, legal advisors, and external service providers
- Provide financial administrative support to associated operating businesses
What We're Looking For
✔ Bookkeeping or accounting experience
✔ Experience within a family office, private wealth environment, or multi-entity business will be advantageous
✔ Sound understanding of accounting principles and tax
✔ Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software
✔ Excellent organisational and communication skills
✔ High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
✔ A proactive, trustworthy individual who handles confidential information with discretion and professionalism
Formal qualifications are advantageous but not essential. Practical experience, reliability, and professionalism are highly valued.
