Position: Account Manager (New Business and Retention)

The responsibilities include developing long-term relationships with a portfolio of customers, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders. Manage and develop customer accounts to maintain a favourable relationship with customers. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, budgets, and targets. To secure specific strategic new business by marketing the Company’s services within the geographic boundaries of the assigned region, in line with the specific new business strategy of the organization.

Min Requirements :

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent

Driver’s license with own reliable transport

Tertiary qualification in sales or marketing would be an advantage

Experience in the logistics industry is beneficial

Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Knowledge of business principles (i.e., financial, operational, customer experience)

At least 3-5 years of experience in sales or customer-facing/engagement and proven track record within a sales/target-driven environment.

Duties :

Ensure monthly and annual targets are achieved

Ensure account queries are resolved timeously, and accounts are settled within trading terms

Identify new distribution opportunities and as a result increase revenue

Complete and submit weekly sales report before the deadline

Identify opportunity and increase existing client spend

Training of clients:
Product, services, website & business apps

Develop strategic relationships with key role players/influential stakeholders

Assign and/or play a key role in the overseeing of query resolution and implement proactive solutions to ensure customer satisfaction

Offer, sell and implement value-added services designed by the business

Increase revenue base in line with target/budget

Negotiate and secure annual rate increases in line with business strategies

Analyse and present monthly KPI reports to clients with recommendations

Identify clients that are spending and not spending monthly and present action plan to direct manager

Develop strategic relationships with key role players/influential stakeholders in existing base of clients

Identify opportunities within the market to provide a competitive edge

Identify and secure sales opportunities with new business accounts

Meet and exceed monthly new business sales target

Sell the Company’s services to all customers within set regional boundaries

Ensure that the account is secured in its entirety i.e., maximum potential

Negotiate gross profits in line with company objectives

Prospecting new clients

Conduct needs analysis

Propose customized client solution and rate negotiation

Attain credit application in line with company policy and procedure

Follow internal policy and procedure with regard to opening new accounts
