A UK start-up is looking for a proactive and ambitious Account Manager hungry to build the foundations of an account management motion from the ground up.

About Primis

Primis operates in the post-purchase logistics sphere, enhancing the customer experience from order confirmation to shipment tracking, delivery, and returns. Their diverse team spans multiple continents, with their software engineering function headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa. They are expanding into data analytics, predictive analytics, classification networks, recurrent networks, and convolutional networks.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for (immediate priorities):
Serving as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Triaging and managing customer problems effectively.
Proactively engaging with customers to understand their needs and addressing any concerns.
Developing systems to ensure customer satisfaction is measured.
Onboarding new customers and ensuring a smooth transition to the platform.
Willingness to get hands dirty and solving day-to-day customer issues.
Identifying opportunities to improve customer engagement and driving adoption of the platform.
Identifying opportunities to grow existing customer accounts and proactively pursue them.
Acting as a liaison between customers and the internal tech team to resolve issues and implement solutions.
Confidently communicate with and, when necessary, push back against client demands, setting appropriate boundaries.

Long-term priorities:
Develop and implement automation strategies to improve customer engagement and reduce manual effort.
Advise on the development of a CS roadmap over the next 1 – 3 years and start to build systems and processes to underpin the plan.

The Person

Proven commercial acumen and a strong understanding of B2B tech.
Demonstrable experience in account management, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment.
Experience with tools and strategies for customer engagement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage expectations.
Strong understanding of business and product differences, with the ability to clearly articulate value propositions.
Ability to work in a startup environment.
