We have partnered with a leading organization specializing in investment promotion, event management, and market consultancy within the mining and energy sectors. This organization connects global investors, governments, and industry leaders through high-level conferences, roadshows, and tailored advisory services.
We are seeking a dynamic Account Executive to join the team and play a key role in driving sponsorship and delegate sales for major mining events. The ideal candidate will have a strong business development mindset, experience in sales, and the ability to manage and grow client relationships.
Candidates must be willing to relocate to Sub-Saharan Africa for 6-12 month projects with breaks in between!!!!
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the mining and energy sectors.
Acquire sponsors, partners, and delegates for high-profile industry events.
Promote and sell services, including investment promotion, government consultancy, licensing rounds, brand advisory, and specialized events.
Identify new sales opportunities and convert leads into long-term business relationships.
Research, update, and manage internal contact databases.
Ensure all payments are processed, recorded, and pursued when necessary.
Work closely with Senior Management and Operations to ensure seamless execution of events that exceed client expectations.
Use internal reporting tools and third-party platforms to track sales performance and client engagement.
Requirements:
University graduate with a background in international business, economics, or a related field.
Prior experience in sales, preferably within mining events or the energy sector.
Excellent command of English; fluency in Portuguese, French, or Spanish is an advantage.
Strong commercial acumen, networking skills, and the ability to engage C-level executives.
Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple accounts while seeking new business opportunities.
Adaptability to different cultures and business environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HubSpot, and Trello.
