Position: 1st Line Engineer / Desktop Support
Open Box Software is looking for a 1st line engineer to join our Infrastructure team based in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities :
Administer and support workstations.
Administer and process end-user onboarding and offboarding.
Set up and configure workstations, printers, and peripherals.
Perform regular operational maintenance and updates on IT systems.
Support Microsoft 365, Windows OS, and basic networking.
Manage logged calls promptly.
Resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
Escalate complex issues to second or third-line support when necessary.
Accurately record issues and solutions in the ticketing system.
Guide users on best practices and IT policies.
Participate in rotational support shifts (one week per month).
Desirable Experience
One year of ICT experience, ideally within the Windows desktop support environment.
Solid understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Client-focused approach with proactive issue resolution.
Dedicated to ongoing learning and remaining up to date with technological advancements.
Desirable
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree / National Diploma in IT (preferred, not required).
Microsoft Fundamentals and Intermediate courses:
Azure and 365.
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certifications.
Valid driving license and car required.
